I like videogames... a lot. Like to talk about them, read about them, write about them and make videos about them.
Recently I've begun to experiment with streaming of videogames as well and it was a blast. Going into the process without any knowledge about how to set up a stream, I found it surprisingly straightforward.
Before I started, I was thinking about using Xsplit, but I found out you don't just buy the software, you have to pay a subscription fee. I mostly wanted to play around with streaming, so I didn't want to commit to a subscriptionplan, the same way I don't want to pay for an MMO. I would never use it enough to justify the cost and if I have a subsciption, I would always be thinking about why I wasn't using my subsciption, when I was doing other stuff.
Well I found a free alternative, FFsplit, which is both easy to set up and works pretty well. I was on my way with a stream and picture overlay in no time. I will definitly play around with it some more. Playing Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm with my compadre.
The next big problem to solve is streaming from my Blackmagic Shuttle box. That way I'll be able to stream my gaming on the Xbox 360 (and PS3 if I get component cables). Currently I can only get video, but no audio.
But my toying around with streaming is only my most recent exposure of my hobby to the world. I have been writing video games news stories for different internet sites for a couple of years now. Last year I was the editor-in-chief on a gaming television show: "Gaming!" and currently I'm a video game reviewer on the site/television show: "Gametest". I have a youtube channel that I try to keep regularly updated with videos and now I'm running this blog. In short: I'm expressing my interessant and experience with video games through alot of different medias atm.
